Top celebrity trainer Tracy Anderson recently published a new book “Tracy Anderson’s 30-day Method: The Weight-Loss Kick-Start That Makes Perfection Possible.” Don’t let the lengthy title discourage you; the book is actually intended to make Tracy’s other fitness products more accessible. Tracy Anderson wants women across the country to get the results she provides celebrity clients – including Gwyneth Paltrow and Shakira – in her Los Angeles and New York studios. That’s Fit recently interviewed Tracy Anderson to learn about her book.

Tracy Anderson told That’s Fit that making her workout and diet program accessible inspired her to author her book. She said, “Over the decade that I’ve spent creating my Method, it’s always been my greatest challenge to be able to keep up with the demand for it. For many years, if you weren’t right next to me, you couldn’t have it.” “After the first set of DVDs that Gwyneth and I did, I was like, ‘Oh my goodness, what did I do? I just put out DVDs, and yes, those DVDs work, but they’re not going to work in a couple of months and they go against everything I believe in.’” She felt her DVD’s were too confusing and required an explanation. She said fans came to her and said, “I got your DVD and put it in, and I grabbed a glass of wine and I watched it. I want to do it but it seems really complicated!”

Tracy Anderson also clarified some things about her book. In the book she provides diet information, but does not give a suggested daily calorie count. She says, “Not over 1,200 a day, but it really depends.” “It’s just not really about the calories, but more about getting nutrient dense foods in consumable portions. When people first do the cleanse, they really feel the detoxification. But the second time, they find they can’t even finish all their food!” She also reassured fans that the unusual foods she recommends in her diet can be found at the grocery store. “These are all fresh, convenient foods. You can get them all at the grocery store. So, if you’re going there to get a Lean Cuisine or a bag of Doritos, you can grab these foods instead.”

Finally, Tracy Anderson explained why her strength workout sequences are so strict while the cardio workout is free flowing. She says, “I’m results-obsessed.” “The muscular structure must be done in order and in the reps I give [in order to get the right results],” But for the cardio, “I just need you to connect to the music and to your body. I need you to work different rotations and still bounce and lift your body off the ground.”
