Last month I saw Lady Gaga in concert at Lollapalooza, so I can personally say that her body looks fantastic. She struts and dances around the stage, loaded with energy. Her three costume changes per song are probably a great workout in itself! People magazine recently shared how Lady Gaga prepared for her Monster Ball tour and for her grueling schedule of rehearsals and interviews. Apparently, it is all about a healthy, balanced diet.

Traveling around the world is strenuous on its own. But combined with nighty dance performances and months of practice, Lady Gaga’s schedule requires optimal health. She gets her workout from her job, but healthy eating isn’t always so convenient. After Lady Gaga fainted in her New Zealand concert earlier this year, she decided it was time to refine her diet habits.

According to her choreographer, LaurieAnn Gibson, Lady Gaga enjoys low-fat and high-protein snacks. Gibson says, “It’s all about salsa with grain chips, tofu, turkey slices, hummus and coconut water.” Salsa is low in calories and grain chips provide healthy whole grains. Tofu, turkey slices, and hummus provide a variety of light protein sources, keeping her full longer but not weighing her down – perfect for dancing.

Although her busy schedule requires a healthy diet, Lady Gaga always enjoys a little wine before a performance. Gibson says, ”We’ll have a toast or two with a little white wine!” Perhaps the pre-show cocktail takes the edge off before performing to sold out crowds!

On a more personal note, Gibson says Lady Gaga is “fearless” and has “become a lot more comfortable with herself.” She looks pretty fearless already in her ”Poker Face,” “Love Game,” “Paparazzi,” “Bad Romance,” “Telephone” and “Alejandro,” videos (all choreographed by Gibson). Finally, Gibson says in her new music ”[Lady Gaga is] going to take a bigger bite out of things.” “You’re going to see more of who she really is.” We can’t wait!
