90210 Star AnnaLynne McCord's Four Fitness Tips

Tuesday on the CW, fan favorite teen drama 90210 returned from its winter hiatus. Although 90210 is full of seduction and scandal, many viewers believe the main attraction is the hot young bodies. After all, who doesn’t love to watch beautiful, fit 20-somethings playing angst ridden high school students?

One beautiful star on the show is 22 -year old southern-bell AnnaLynne McCord. AnnaLynne is a blond bombshell with one of the hottest celebrity bodies on the Hollywood scene. In fact, we ranked her among the “Top 10 Fittest Celebrities You Don’t Know.” Anna follows a few great workout and diet we think everyone should know about.

1. Listen to Your Body

AnnaLynne says that growing up in Georgia she was constantly tempted by high-calorie foods, but learned to eat a healthy diet by watching her mom lose 45 pounds. AnnaLynne says, in Georgia “it’s all about butter, sugar, fried, and deep-fried.” However, when AnnaLynne’s mom read The Weigh Down Diet she taught her daughters healthy diet habits. “The author studied the habits of thin people and discovered that when they’re done eating, they wrap up their leftovers instead of just finishing whatever they were served.” By following simple diet strategies, such as “pushing away your plate when you’re full and allowing for splurges in moderation,” AnnaLynne is able to maintain her thin figure.

2. Cook When You Can

Like most women, AnnaLynne has an extremely busy schedule and can’t always find the time to cook. When filming, AnnaLynne is on set at 6 a.m. and doesn’t get to bet until 1 or 2 in the morning. Keeping her diet on track is challenging. For breakfast, AnnaLynne has an egg sandwich, French toast, or both if she is super hungry. On set, AnnaLynne snacks on green and red pepper strips and cereal bars. She often has a turkey and ham sandwich for lunch and vegetable soup with fish or chicken for dinner.

When she isn’t working, AnnaLynne likes to cook healthy meals at home. Her favorite is citrus chicken, which she makes by marinating chicken breasts in lemon and lime juice, and sautéing them in olive oil and more citrus juice. After that, she adds fresh herbs, such as rosemary, sage, and thyme, and browns the chicken slowly. Finally, she pairs the chicken with side of fresh spinach sautéed in olive oil and garlic on top of fettuccine. She loves this meal because “it’s simple and ready in 30 minutes.”

3. Sweat with a Friend

AnnaLynne McCord has very little free-time, so when she has a couple hours free she likes to workout with friends. She says, ”With my unpredictable work hours, I rarely have time to exercise and have fun, so my idea of a good workout is to mix them both.” “I love being outdoors, playing beach tennis, going for runs in the sand, or doing a three-hour hike with my best girlfriend, Mieko.” When AnnaLynne does a workout with Mieko they go to  ”Runyon Canyon or some other hiking trail and just walk and talk for hours.” She says the workout is their “one-on-one time.”

4. Think Outside the Gym

AnnaLynne says, “When I first moved to L.A., I didn’t have a lot of money to join a gym or take classes, so I improvised.” “My sister and I went to the library and looked over their DVD collection and discovered Neena and Veena, these Egyptian twins who have a whole series of belly dancing routines. We did them all.” She enjoys belly dancing because it is a great workout and it boosts her self-esteem. She says, “When you’re shaking your booty you can’t help but feel beautiful and sexy.” In fact, AnnaLynne enjoyed her unconventional workout so much that she still doesn’t own a gym membership!
