Marisa Miller and other Celebrity Favorite Summer Workouts

We, here at The Celebrity Workout, realize that with summer just around the corner, hitting the gym and slimming into bikini worthy shape is a greater priority than ever. Although celebrities have the luxury of taking tropical vacations year round, they are not immune from the added pressure of strutting their stuff in a bathing suit. As the weather warms up and the clothes get smaller, celebrities feel especially motivated to get active and workout.

Check out these celebrity workout summer favorites:

  • Marisa Miller, the well-known model who often graces the pages of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition, says “I go paddle-boarding and do a lot of strength training with resistance bands.” Taking advantage of water workouts is a great way to celebrate the season.
  • Kerry Washingon, the actress who played Ray Charles’ wife in Ray, says “I have an incredible Pilates instructor in NYC, Erika Bloom, and in L.A., Nonna Gleyzer. I do Pilates for an hour four or five times per week. I absolutely love it.” Toning and strengthening is especially important when showing more skin during the summer months.
  • Carrie Ann Inaba, the dancer and actress who sometime judges Dancing with the Stars, says “I mostly kickbox and do a cardio workout called Drenched. Billy Blanks‘ brother and sister started it. It’s great!” A good cardio sweat sessions feels great in the summer heat!
  • Rachel Bilson, best known for her role as Summer on The O.C., says “My best diet and workout secret is dancing. Any form of dance is the most fun way to work out. I really like hip-hop classes – or full-on dancing at a club!” If you can’t afford dance classes, hitting a local night club is a great alternative. If you skip the alcohol, you will save money and burn even more calories!
  • Kristen Bell, known for her roles in Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Couples Retreat, says “My favorite workout is hiking. I also try to incorporate it into my daily life by walking up the stairs whenever possible.” Kristen has many great workout and diet tips, which we covered in a previous post. Check it out!
  • Brooklyn Decker, another Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model, says “I’m my smallest and fitting into my skinniest jeans when I’m lifting weights. I do a lot of reps, using 10- to 15-pound weights three times a week.” You can do this type of workout at home with a few light weights. Check out how Brooklyn looks 5-pounds thinner instantly!
