Men’s Health is looking for contestants for their Spartacus Challenge, with the winner earning a walk-on role in the second season of the Starz original television series, Spartacus: Blood and Sand. Indeed, the Spartacus workout was the same workout used by Andy Whitfield to prepare for his role in Spartacus: Blood and Sand.  Check out Andy’s interview:

The Spartacus Challenge officially began on December 21st, 2009 and runs through March 15th.  All contestants must use the Spartacus workout to complete their body transformation during the time period.  A winner will be chosen based on both the level of his body transformation and how well his overall physique fits the show’s producers’ requirements for casting.

The highly anticipated first season of Spartacus: Blood and Sand premieres on Starz Friday, January 22nd.  Thanks to the success of gladiator movies and series like 300 and Rome, this latest series is already receiving praise and has already been renewed for a second season before its first episode has even aired.

The Spartacus workout is a challenging full body circuit training routine which will push you to your limits and have you burning fat at an unprecedented rate.  Log on to the Men’s Health Spartacus page now for more details on the workout and the contest’s rules.

We have entered the challenge ourselves and will blog about our experience over the next few months.  Friday, just in time for the show’s premiere, we will post the detailed Spartacus workout.  So stay tuned! Leave a comment and let us know if you will be taking the challenge with us and getting fit in 2010.
