The New York Daily News broke the story yesterday with these pictures of a doughy looking Gerard Butler. We normally would prefer to refrain from posting anything about unfit celebs but Butler was in legendary shape just three years ago when he played King Leonidas in the highly acclaimed war film 300.
We are wondering how it is possible for him to go through such a reverse transformation. This gives the average guy hope though as many would assume that Butler was just naturally fit and didn’t have to work hard to get the 6-pack he sported for his part in 300. This just shows you that it is possible to go from one extreme to the other.
Butler is set to begin filming in March for his role as army commander Tullus Aufidius in Coriolanus, a modern version of Shakespeare’s Rome-set political and drama. We can’t imagine Gerard will show up on set without being in top shape.
Check back tomorrow and we’ll show you the grueling routine Butler and his co-stars used to get ripped for their roles in 300. Perhaps Butler should read it over as a refresher…
